The annual SIOI National Congress (Italian Society of Paediatric Dentistry) will be held next December at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Pisa.

The title of the Congress, “Sharing”, as indicated by President Maria Rita Giuca, “aims to emphasise the importance of sharing knowledge and expertise with the goal of improving the present and future oral health conditions of young patients”.
The National Congress, held biennially, is the central event of the scientific society dedicated to paediatric dentistry. Its objective is the sharing of multidisciplinary expertise involving the entire team surrounding the young patient and their family: the paediatric dentist, dental hygienist, and dental practice assistant.

And Cariex®, long recommended for cavity prevention from the earliest age, will of course be present at the Congress.

The “IV NATIONAL CONGRESS IDEA THIRD MILLENNIUM, THIRD AGE: WHAT PREVENTION, WHAT TREATMENT?” will take place on 6th and 7th October in Rome.

Highly relevant topics, given that Italy is currently the oldest country in Europe: 21.4% of the population is over 65, compared to an EU average of 18.5%, and 6.4% is over 80, against an average of 5.1% — figures set to grow considerably in the coming years.

The XVI Congress of the Dental Hygiene Degree Programme Committee, entitled “The Dental Hygienist Profession: Action, Approach, Diagnosis and Treatment”, will be held in Bari, at the Nicolaus Hotel, on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th June 2017. The Congress is free of charge for both Students and Dental Hygienists and Dentists, and is ECM accredited.
